What is its use?
It is used to relieve bladder pain and discomfort, as already mentioned above. The said condition is related to interstitial cystitis. It is a disease-causing swelling and scarring of the bladder wall. The medicine is similar to low molecular weight heparins, working on preventing irritation of the bladder walls.

How can it be used?
Pentosan polysulfate is in the form of a capsule to take orally. It is taken with water 3x a day, one hour before or 2-hour after meals. You must follow directions on the prescription label carefully and ask a doctor to explain any part you don’t understand. Never take more or less of it, follow the doctor’s prescription.
Proper dosing
Take this medicine when directed by a doctor. Never take more, don’t take it more often, and don’t take it for a longer time than the doctor ordered. The medicine must come with a patient info leaflet. Follow the instructions carefully and ask a doctor if you still have questions. Take the medicine with water on an empty stomach 1 hour before or 2 hours after a meal.
In dosing, the medicine can be prescribed differently from one patient to the other. You should follow the doctor’s orders written on the prescription.
